Introducing: The Lincoln Cultural Center

Where history is embraced, talent is cultivated and art; both visual and performing, are enjoyed.

Located in downtown Lincolnton, NC, the Lincoln Cultural Center has been housed in the former location of the First Baptist Church since 1991. The Classical Revival style building was designed by Charlotte architect J.M. McMichael and constructed in 1922. One of its most beloved features is the magnificent stained glass Rosette window in the dome of what is now Timken Performance Hall. Listed on the National Register for Historical Places, the Center is home to: The Arts Council of Lincoln County, Lincoln County Historical Association, Lincoln Community Concert Association, Lincoln Theatre Guild and the Jacob Forney Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Office Hours for the Lincoln Cultural Center

Piano Times Three

"Piano Time Three, Sunday, January 28 at 3 pm

The Lincolnton Cultural Center will host a “Piano Times Three” recital on Sunday January 28th at 3:00, featuring pianist Robert Setzer with two of his adult students, Todd Wright and John Zika also performing. The recital will present solo piano works as well as works for one piano four hands, including Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue.”

Mr. Setzer is Artist-in-Residence at New Hope and is an experienced performer in the United States and Europe.
He has devoted most of his career to teaching, and is an award-winning pedagogue whose students have won major prizes in state, regional, and national competition events.
Todd Wright is organist/accompanist at the First Baptist Church in Lenoir, and is also an experienced performer in the Unifour area, often as piano accompanist with high school choruses and high school musicals, and other musical ensembles in the area. Like Setzer, he is at home in any musical style or genre of playing.
John Zika is pianist at Midway United Methodist Church in Statesville.
Cathy Davis, Executive Director of the Lincoln Cultural Center said of the event, “We are excited that these talented pianist approached us about hosting this event. We are confident that it will be most entertaining and a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.”
This recital is a fundraiser for the Lincoln Cultural Center with an interesting admission - just drop a donation in the basket as you enter. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will be used for ongoing programs and operation of the Center.
Doors will open at 2:30 pm. There will be concessions available at intermission.
