The Lincoln Cultural Center

The Lincoln Cultural Center (LCC) is located in historic downtown Lincolnton and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The center has been housed in the former location of the First Baptist Church since 1991. The building is known as a classic revival style structure which was constructed in 1922 after being designed by Charlotte architect J.M. McMichael.

One of the facility’s most beloved features is the magnificent stained glass Rosette window in the dome of what is now the Timken Performance Hall. This Rosette has also been adopted as the organization’s logo.

This multidisciplinary cultural arts facility houses four member organizations; the Lincoln County Historical Association, the Lincoln County Concert Association, the Lincoln Theatre Guild and the Jacob Forney Chapter of DAR.

The LCC also features spaces available for rent to residents and businesses of the community. Space is used by the general public as well as member organizations for exhibitions, performances, parties, weddings, receptions, workshops, seminars and meetings.

The LCC was formed to support cultural enrichment for the citizens of Lincoln County therefore the mission is to offer the people of Lincoln County and the surrounding areas an opportunity to explore the visual and performing arts, to promote cultural and multicultural activities, and to celebrate the rich heritage of our region.

Our Mission and Vision

Our mission is to be the hub for cultural activity in our community. To provide opportunities to our citizens that will enrich their lives as they immerse themselves in our rich history, participate in the arts or simply enjoy the arts.

The cultural center is an amazing space located in down town Lincolnton! You can rent space out to host your own event(birthday party’s, showers etc). You can attend plays, and different events hosted in the community such as handmade for the Holidays. The place is always clean, a friendly staff is there to assist you. A lot of history to explore!

Great place for the arts in Lincoln County

Gallery

We find ourselves after many events, wishing that we had taken more pictures. Fortunately we have many professional photographers in our community that share there talents with us, including, Michelle Bernard, Angel Kincaid and Robert Webb, to name a few. Photographs capture the the events through the images of people, individuals and groups, as they enjoy one of our many programs, participate in a production – perhaps for the first time, or as the sit, sometimes on the edge of their seat, eagerly anticipating the next note, the next word or the last tear, or as they listen intently while learning something. No matter the image, no matter the event each of them signify to us that our work is well worth the time and the effort.
